Use of 13.9 square metres on the footway of Burton Street and 8.7 square metres on the footway of Palmer Street for outdoor dining in association with the adjacent food and drink premises trading as ‘Eternity Playhouse’. The proposed outdoor dining hours are between 4.00pm and 9.00pm, Monday to Sundays. This is a new application and previous approval was granted for the same operator.

Refurbishment, upgrade and adaptive re-use of the
heritage listed Burton Street Tabernacle, to be used
as an arts and cultural facility including a 200 seat
community theatre operated by the Darlinghurst
Theatre Company.
Works include demolition of the existing rear
addition adjacent Kells Lane, excavation at rear and
new rear addition to accommodate back of house
facilities; internal demolitions; works to facades
including replacement of doors and windows,
installation of acoustic window screens, signage and
awnings; internal works including the installation of
raked seating, stage, box office, cafe/bar/gallery and
back of house facilities.
Hours of operation are 7am to midnight, 7
days a week. The café/gallery will operate 7am-10pm.
The theatre/box office/bar will operate 4pm-11.30pm
Friday and Saturday, and 4pm-11pm Sunday to
Thursday. Patrons must leave the
premises within 15 minutes of closing time and staff
must leave by midnight.
