The proposed development is the staged construction and use of the “Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre” comprising an indoor and outdoor aquatic and recreation centre and public park. The proposed works include demolition of existing structures, earthworks and construction of the new facilities. The aquatic centre includes a 50m heated outdoor pool, a heated outdoor leisure pool, a 25m indoor program pool, an indoor hydrotherapy pool, indoor crèche, a licensed cafe, and a health and recreation centre. The park includes a synthetic sports field, playground, skate areas, fitness stations, amenities buildings, bbq areas and landscaping. The proposal is Integrated Development as an approval is required from the NSW Office of Water for temporary dewatering of the site during construction.

Section 96(2) Application to delete a condition of the previous development consent, which limited the approval to operate to twelve (12) months, for ongoing use of the site as a service depot. This would include continuation of the previously approved hours of operation: Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday 7.30am to 3.30pm.
